- Who can bid at Auto Auctioneers?
- Registered Australian businesses with a verified ABN. We are not able to approve private buyers at this time.
- How long does registration take?
- Email your company documents to info@smartauctions.com.au and we approve your account within a maximum of 24 hours on business days.
- Is there a cost to register?
- No. Registration and browsing are free. Fees apply only when you buy a vehicle.
- What fees apply when I win?
- A buyer's premium and an administration fee, both displayed on the lot page, plus GST where applicable and any transfer or delivery costs.
- Can I inspect a vehicle before bidding?
- Yes. Inspection times for each yard are listed on the lot page. We strongly recommend inspecting, as vehicles are sold as-is.
- What does 'as-is, where-is' mean?
- The vehicle is sold in its current condition at its current location. Condition reports are a guide, not a warranty.
- How do I pay?
- By electronic funds transfer in AUD from an account in your company's name. Each lot shows its own payment terms: 25%, 50% or 100% of the invoice within 48 hours of sale confirmation.
- Why do payment terms differ between vehicles?
- Payment terms are set per lot: 25%, 50% or 100% of the invoice is due within 48 hours. We publish the exact terms on every lot page before you bid or buy, so there are never surprises.
- When do I collect the vehicle?
- Within 5 business days of cleared payment. You can collect yourself or book a transporter; storage fees apply after that period.
- Do you arrange delivery?
- We can refer you to transport partners covering all mainland states. Delivery is quoted and paid separately.
- What is the fixed-price section?
- Selected vehicles are offered at a set price until the advertised end date. No bidding — you submit a purchase request and we confirm availability.
- Can I cancel a bid?
- No. Every bid is a binding offer to purchase. Please bid carefully.
- Do vehicles come with registration and a roadworthy?
- It varies by lot and by state. Each listing states whether the vehicle is registered and whether a safety certificate is included.
